King Abdullah Royal Stadium: the epicenter of sports and cultural events in Jeddah
Located near Jeddah, King Abdullah Royal Stadium is an important part of the King Abdullah Sports City complex. This second largest stadium in Saudi Arabia was built in just two years and opened its doors to spectators in 2014. It was originally created to host the King's Cup, one of the oldest football tournaments in the country.
The stadium is home to famous clubs such as Al Ittihad and Al Ahli, and regularly hosts international friendlies. The 2023 FIFA Club World Cup was held here, and the AFC Champions League Elite Final is planned for 2025. The arena will host the 2027 Asian Cup.
The complex is also preparing to host matches of the 2034 World Cup, including stages up to the quarter-finals. A major reconstruction of the stadium is planned before this event.
King Abdullah Sports City is famous not only for sporting events. It hosts concerts and festivals with the participation of world stars such as Janet Jackson and Chris Brown. The stadium ranks tenth among the largest stadiums in the Arab world and is one of the most impressive arenas in Asia.
